Ford’s F-Series Super Duty may be a serious workhorse, but it can also be ordered with plenty of luxury, especially in range-topping Platinum guise.

For the 2025 model year, the heavy-duty pickup truck gets an extra serving of luxury via a new Platinum Plus package.

It adds things like a unique grille with a satin finish and bright chrome accents, a Smoked Truffle interior color combination, perforated leather trim, and front seats that can recline to almost flat—ideal for power naps. The package also includes a 2.0-kw power take-off for tools or recreational equipment. The standalone option costs $6,500, and Ford hasn’t said what grades it will be available on.

The actual Platinum grade has also been enhanced for 2025 with a new interior option combining black trim with blue accent stitching, plus a black grille and body-colored door handles.

Ford has also grouped together popular technology features for trailering into new Trailer Technology bundles. These include features like auxiliary cameras, tire pressure monitoring systems for the trailer, and blind spot monitoring that covers the trailer. A surround-view camera can also be added.

Also available is the Ford Pro Vehicle Integration System 2.0 feature (standard on chassis cab models) which makes things easy when upfitting the truck. The hardware/software combination provides access to vehicle signals, creates custom safety interlocks, and allows for easy programing of controls in the center display or the overhead toggle switches.

Other changes for 2025 include Ford’s ActiveX trim designed to fit active lifestyles now standard in the Lariat, and the two new exterior color options Avalanche and Ruby Red Metallic.

Once again, Super Duty buyers will be able to choose from F-250, F-350, and F-450 models, as well as from a trio of powertrains all paired to a 10-speed automatic transmission. The base engine is a 6.8-liter V-8 rated at 405 hp and 445 lb-ft of torque. It will do the job but anyone serious about towing will want to upgrade to either the 7.3-liter V-8, rated at 430 hp and 485 lb-ft, or the 6.7-liter V-8 turbodiesel. The diesel comes in standard and High Output forms. The standard version delivers 475 hp and 1,050 lb-ft torque, while the High Output version bumps those figures to 500 hp and 1,200 lb-ft.

The High Output diesel is the option to go for if maximum towing capacity is desired. With a gooseneck configuration, towing capacity is rated at a high of 40,000 pounds in the F-450. The towing capacity drops to 38,000 pounds with a gooseneck in the F-350, to 35,000 pounds with a fifth wheel trailer in the F-450 dually, and to a low of 23,000 pounds with conventional towing in the F-250. The maximum payload for the truck is 8,000 pounds.

Order books for the 2025 Super Duty range are already open, with prices starting at $47,295 for the base F-250 XL. At the top of the range is the F-450 Platinum which starts at $96,030. Both figures include a $1,995 destination charge.

Production of the Super Duty range is handled at Ford’s Kentucky Truck Plant and Ohio Assembly Plant.
