Police in Riverside, California have arrested a 32-year-old man after he led them on a chase in a stolen Amazon delivery van.
The incident kicked off at approximately 5:15 p.m. on July 25 when authorities were notified of two home-invasion robberies at a mobile home park in the 2900 block of Atlanta Avenue. Before police could arrive, however, they were told that the suspect had carjacked an Amazon delivery van and left the scene.
Authorities were quickly able to track the Amazon van through GPS and caught up to it just after it hit a number of parked cars along Arlington Avenue. Police quickly gave chase but the suspect refused to pull over, driving east on the 60 Freeway.
Dramatic footage of the chase shows the suspect aggressively steering the van to the left while on the freeway, rear-ending a Ford F-Series pickup truck and pushing it into a grey sedan that had pulled over to the side of the road. The Amazon van only came to a rest after it then hit a silver Honda Civic and slammed into the concrete median barrier.

The male driver quickly jumped out, ran across the highway, and attempted to climb a tall wall to evade authorities. However, he gave up and decided that surrendering was the smartest idea at that point.
The suspect has been revealed to be 32-year-old Quintin Jamall Larks from Las Vegas. He is being held on $1 million bail after being booked on suspicion of attempted murder, home invasion robbery, carjacking, assault with a deadly weapon, reckless evading of police, and suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs causing injury.
“This suspect posed a significant threat to our community,” local police Captain Chad Milby told The Press-Enterprise. “The composure and professionalism our officers, field supervisors and dispatchers performed during this intense and chaotic situation not only led to the apprehension of a very dangerous criminal, but demonstrated the high level of training our department goes through to keep Riverside safe.”
