82-Year Old Crashes Ferrari 512 TR Into Andorra Shopping Center Just Before Christmas

Shoppers preparing for Christmas in Andorra got the shock of their lives earlier this week when a Ferrari 512 TR crashed through the front of a shopping center.

The crash occurred in the Sant Julià de Lòria parish of the tiny country during the middle of the day. Local media outlet Diara d’Andorra notes that the 82-year-old male driver, the 59-year-old female passenger, and a 44-year-old shopping center worker were injured in the crash and treated at the hospital with concussions before being discharged.

It is reported that the Italian exotic was traveling north past the shopping complex when it hit a road barrier, careening across multiple lanes, and slamming through a large window. It is believed that speed was a factor in the crash.

Images and videos taken from the scene show that the 512 TR suffered extensive damage. As you would imagine, the front end took the brunt of the impact and the bumper has been completely torn off. Additionally, the hood has been left mangled. It is likely that the underbody of the Ferrari has also been left with significant damage.

Ferrari launched the 512 TR in 1991 as an updated version of the iconic Testarossa. Just over 2,200 examples are thought to have been built, each fitted with a 4.9-liter flat-12 engine producing 422 hp and 362 lb-ft (491 Nm) of torque, allowing the car to hit 62 mph (100 km/h) in approximately 4.8 seconds. Evidently, the owner of this 512 TR was using a little too much of the car’s power, which led to the crash.
