The 1986 Boaterhome Is Two-Parts Boat, One Part Ford Econoline Van

Offbeat

The ‘Boaterhome’ is a weird vehicle that you may have never heard of but if you love getting out on the open water, it could be absolutely perfect.

Just 21 examples of the Boaterhome were built in the 1980s. The vehicle combines a Ford Econoline van with a large 28-foot boat and can be driven on the street where it essentially doubles as a large R/V, or the boat can be unloaded into the water and the Ford can be driven separately.

Perhaps the most interesting thing about the Boaterhome is the fact that on first impressions, it looks as though it is simply a uniquely-shaped limousine, so seamlessly does the shell of the boat slide into the bodywork of the van. However, while the Boaterhome can be driven on the street, we suspect it feels a little cumbersome to drive and is probably more at home in the water.

The owner of this Boaterhome has made the exterior of the vehicle really stand out thanks to a unique white, blue and orange paint scheme. A number of upgrades have also been made to the interior.

Found inside are all the amenities you would expect to find in a motorhome. For example, there is a spacious kitchen area with a sink, stove, oven, and microwave. There is also a dining area that can be converted into a two-person bed as well as two large couches that can be joined together to double as a large bed that’s actually larger than a king-size.

Barrett Jackson will auction off the Boaterhome at its forthcoming Las Vegas auction running from June 30 to July 2. No pre-auction estimate has been made available for the vehicle.
