Automotive News hires connected-car vet

Doug Newcomb has joined Automotive News as a mobility reporter covering technology and trends reshaping transportation.

Newcomb, 60, has a wealth of experience in the connected-car and mobility realms. He is based in Hood River, Ore., and has been reporting on car technology since 1988. His work has appeared in Wired, Automobile and WardsAuto and on Edmunds, PCMag.com and Forbes.com.

In 2013, Newcomb founded the C3 Group, which produced the inaugural Connected Car Expo at the Los Angeles Auto Show. He later established conversation-setting events at SXSW and the New York International Auto Show as well as in San Francisco and Washington.
