Police in Four Oaks, North Carolina have arrested two individuals for leading them on a chase that reached 150 mph (241 km/h).

Local media reports that the 2022 Dodge Charger was stolen from the Hendrick’s Dodge dealership in Cary at approximately 11 p.m. on Sunday night. It was a high-performance Scat Pack model.

The chase started shortly after the Charger was stolen and spotted near Smithfield. Police continued to pursue the Dodge along I-95 where speeds topped 150 mph but the driver, 20-year-old Darryl Joseph Jr. and his passenger, 23-year-old Giraud Jeanty, managed to initially evade officers, WRAL reports.

The local State Highway Patrol say that Joseph Jr. and Jeanty ditched the high-performance sedan on the side of the road in Wayne County. Police soon caught back up to the car and saw the duo walking down the road. They were immediately taken into custody.

The two young men were charged with going 143 mph (230 km/h) in a 65 mph (105 km/h) zone, felony fleeing to elude arrest, felony possession of a stolen vehicle, reckless driving, and obstructing and delaying law enforcement officers.

Powering the Charger Scat Pack is a 392 cubic-inch naturally aspirated HEMI V8 pumping out 485 hp and 475 lb-ft (644 Nm) of torque. All of this grunt is sent through the rear wheels and while the Scat Pack doesn’t offer the other-worldly performance of a Hellcat, it can still hit 60 mph (96 km/h) in 4.3 seconds and tops out at an electronically limited 175 mph (281 km/h).
