We’re Driving The 2023 Kia Niro: What Do You Want To Know About It?

Reviews

Kia has been smashing it out of the park lately regardless of what it builds, whether that’s an all-electric sedan like the EV6 or the super-boxy near-production EV9 SUV. The all-new Niro looks to continue the trend by taking many of its new styling cues from the spicy Habaniro concept. It’ll come with three different electrified powertrains and we’re driving it this week.

Those three powertrains include a traditional hybrid, a plug-in hybrid, and an all-electric one. We’ve already seen power figures for all three pop up for countries across the pond but we’re still waiting for official word that they’ll be the same here in the USA.

Pricing for the new Niro with a traditional hybrid powertrain will start at $27,785. or $1,800 more than what the original Niro started at. The mid-level EX model starts at $30,385 and the top-end SX begins at $33,785. Pricing for the plug-in hybrid and the EV has yet to be announced; we hope to learn it this week.

What we know already is that this Niro is slightly larger than the outgoing car and it looks a lot more refined and upscale. The interior closely mirrors that of the Kia EV6 crossover that we drove earlier this year while the exterior looks a lot like the rest of the SUVs in the family.

We know it’ll have special features like “Green Zone Drive” which is a zero-emission mode specifically designed to activate in specific residential areas like around school zones and hospitals. We also know that it’ll have technology like advanced voice recognition and a full suite of advanced driver assistance systems.

While we won’t be able to tell you about driving impressions themselves until October 10, we should be able to answer other questions before then. Now that you have a general overview of what the all-new Kia Niro is all about, what is it that you want to know about it? Let us know in the comments below! We’ll monitor the questions and have a full response for you soon.
