Spotlight: Charity Dunning, CMO of Fixed Ops Marketing

Marketing

Charity Dunning is the CMO of Fixed Ops Marketing and co-host of the “What the Fixed Ops?!” podcast series.

First car: Ford Taurus

First concert you attended: Tool

Name a pet peeve: Spitting on the ground/sidewalk

Most thrilling/adventurous thing you’ve done: Deep-sea fishing in Mexico!

Your personal hero (and why): Mentor and attorney Jeff Babener, who led me into marketing and guided my career

First job: Front desk staff at a hotel in downtown Portland, Ore.

One thing you learned on the job you never forgot: Be proud of the work that I put out; not necessarily the quantity but the quality of effort and results.

If you could pick up a new skill, what would it be? More hardware experience and to better understand networks, VPNs and building Linux machines

3 people you’d invite to dinner, living or dead: I’d love to see my mentor again, who passed away two years ago. I’d love to see my mother again, who passed away six years ago. And, for kicks, it’d be fun to have a conversation with Internet marketing expert Richard Heart, whom I do not know personally but is still alive and spends his time creating new projects on the blockchain.

Do you collect anything? Native vases from various areas of the world I’ve traveled. You can see them behind me in any “What the Fixed Ops?!” episode!

What’s your Netflix binge show? I’m a big fan of true crime. The last binge session I went on was on my flight to NADA 2023 when I got caught up on “Murdaugh Murders: A Southern Scandal.”

First album/CD you bought: Probably Alanis Morissette’s “Jagged Little Pill.”

The most important room in your house: Without a doubt the kitchen; it’s where the family congregates, socializes and spends time together.

Favorite comfort food: I really enjoy homemade breads and cakes. I often make Swedish cardamom coffee bread for family and friends.

Favorite line from a movie: Who doesn’t love the scripture quote from Jules in “Pulp Fiction”?
