A chilling moment was captured by a camera amidst what seems to be a police pursuit in Jacksonville, Florida. In a video shared online, a silver car violently collides with a Jeep and a Toyota before briefly catching fire. The driver manages to escape from the vehicle and flees the scene, with police officers in pursuit.
As of now, the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office (JSO) has not released any official statement regarding the incident.
The video below is violent and the condition of those involved is yet unknown. It’s also a great example of why some police departments won’t pursue suspects in high-speed chases. The risk to public safety can be a major concern that goes up as police willingly put pressure on the fleeing suspect.

It’s worth noting that there’s no current confirmation of what exactly is going down in this clip. It certainly looks as though this is a police chase but authorities haven’t clarified anything as of this writing. What we do see is a silver sedan, possibly a Ford Fusion, coming into an intersection at high speeds.
Almost immediately in the video, we see it smash into a Jeep that’s turning. The silver car glances off of the Jeep and then into a Toyota that’s driving straight through the intersection. At that time we see a flame spark up under the silver car before the driver ditches the car with Police following closely behind.

For the time being, we have no idea how any of the parties ended up after the crash. The occupants in the Jeep Wrangler certainly seemed to take the biggest force in the crash as the SUV spins more than a full 360 degrees. The Toyota Camry also spins but seems to take what momentum the silver car has on its broadside.
According to local news station News4Jax, the JSO says that the crash report isn’t yet complete. We’ll update this piece if we learn more.
