Son Flees Police In Mom’s Dodge Charger, She Then Turns Him In | Carscoops
A 19 year old allegedly used his mom’s car to flee police, before jumping from the vehicle which then crashed into a fence

Family dinners are going to be awkward in one North Carolina home after a mother turned her son into police.
According to the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office, one of their deputies was traveling south on I-85 when a black Dodge Charger “drove up to him, then took off at a high rate of speed and cut his lights off.”
Needless to say, this caught the deputy’s attention and they initiated a traffic stop for speeding. The Sheriff’s Office says the driver “stopped briefly, before speeding off in an attempt to evade” them.

This sparked a pursuit and the Sheriff’s Office alleges the driver of the vehicle, 19 year old Corie Boston, swerved in and out of traffic in an effort to escape. It’s not immediately clear how long the pursuit lasted, but stop sticks were unsuccessfully deployed.
As a result, the pursuit continued and moved from Charlotte to “several side roads.” The Sheriff’s Office says the driver and passenger eventually jumped from the vehicle, which caused the Charger to crash into a fence.

While the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department provided air support and a K-9 unit to assist in the search, the suspects apparently got away. However, Corie’s luck was short lived as deputies talked to the owner of the car, which turned out to be his mother.
The, presumably upset, mom brought her son to the Sheriff’s Office and he was charged with “Felony Flee to Elude with Motor Vehicle,” and given a $3,500 secured bond. Authorities thanked the woman for “doing the right thing” and, thankfully, it appears her car didn’t suffer any damage in the collision.
