Tesla will attend this year’s Munich auto show

Europe

Tesla will participate in this year’s IAA Mobility show in Munich,  Automobilwoche, a sister publication of Automotive News Europe reported.

Tesla will present its electric vehicles in the open air at Munich’s Königsplatz, AMW said.

For the show, which moved from Frankfurt to Munich in 2021, in a bid to attract more visitors, the decision is a coup and interest in the automaker’s EVs is expected to be high. Whether Tesla will offer test drives at the trade fair is uncertain.

For the show’s organizers, Tesla’s participation is also a great success. While several Asian manufacturers have already confirmed their attendance, participation from some well-known automaking groups is less certain. From the Stellantis group, Opel, is currently the only brand attending the event.

Tesla, which turns 20 this summer, has helped popularize electric cars, but like other western brands is facing pressure from Chinese automakers.
