Both a Lamborghini Huracan and a Toyota Prius have been left with significant damage after the Italian exotic slammed into the hybrid while allegedly racing a second Lamborghini in California last week.
The Murrieta Police Department says that the crash occurred at approximately 6:30 p.m. last Friday while two Lamborghini Huracans were traveling next to each other on Jefferson Avenue in Murrieta “at a high rate of speed.” While it is not known exactly how fast the cars were moving, police understand that the driver of one of the Huracan’s lost control and slammed into a Prius traveling in the far-right lane.
Images shared on social media reveal that damaged parts were strewn across the road and that there were skid marks stretching hundreds of feet, leading police to state “it was obvious that one of the vehicles was not doing the posted speed limit of 45 mph. It’s not rocket science.”

The Huracan involved in the crash suffered the most damage. In fact, the entire front end of the mid-engined supercar has been torn off. Additionally, we can see that the rear of the Lamborghini has also been destroyed in the crash with most panels torn from the car. The car also appears to be missing at least two wheels and hubs.
The damage sustained to the Prius is also significant enough that it will likely also be heading straight to a scrap yard. However, it appears to have escaped more lightly than the Huracan with most of the damage it sustained focused around the front fascia, the driver-side front quarter panel, and the door.
Police say that the innocent driver of the Toyota suffered minor injuries while the driver of the Lamborghini, visiting from Colorado, was transported to hospital before being booked for charges of reckless driving and illegal speed contest. The second Huracan fled the scene.
