What Do You Think Happened To This 2024 Ford Mustang? | Carscoops
The rear wheels of this 2024 Ford Mustang have been wrecked but the rest of it appears in good condition

It’s only been a couple of weeks since we came across the first 2024 Ford Mustang listed up for auction through a salvage yard and already, another 2024 Mustang is being sold by Copart. While the damage done to this example isn’t as bad, repairing it could still cost quite a lot.
The car is available in Chicago and appears to be painted in Atlas Blue Metallic, one of the nicer colors offered for the pony car. When viewed from the front, you could be fooled into thinking this Mustang is in pristine condition but this is only because the damage is limited to the rear.

Images show that both of the rear wheels have been pushed out of position, indicating some serious suspension damage that will probably be quite expensive to repair. There also appears to be some scratches on the driver’s side of the rear bumper but other than that, the Ford doesn’t seem to have suffered any noticeable bodywork damage, leading us to wonder just how it ended up with damage like this.
One possibility that springs to mind is that the owner of the car lost control of it, went sideways, and the two rear wheels slammed into and crested a curb. The listing adds that the car also suffered some undercarriage damage. Regardless of the cause, the engine and transmission seem to have escaped damage and the interior also looks pristine, albeit for the airbags that were triggered in the crash.

Copart says that the car had a pre-accident value of $52,886 and it’s safe to assume that it will sell for significantly less than that. Should someone be able to pick it up for, say, less than $40,000 and repair it, they could get quite a good deal.
