The Honda CBR600RR rider blames himself for what he called a combination of “too much confidence for too little skill”

Motorcyclists are sometimes refereed to as “organ donors” due to the risky nature of riding on public roads. The rider in this video came perilously close to fulfilling that title, and after watching the footage, you might find it hard to believe otherwise. After indulging in some rather questionable road behavior, this motorist walked away with a collection of over 20 broken bones and a painfully enlightening lesson.
According to social media user Street_Demon_PC on Instagram and YouTube, this wreck happened about four months ago. It’s worth noting that while he survived, the video below shows a seriously violent crash that might turn the stomach of some. In it we see the rider approaching a GMC Sierra pickup truck before slamming into the tailgate.

The rider is knocked unconscious but lands on his still upright and rolling motorcycle. As it drifts across lanes a tractor-trailer nearly runs him over and separates rider from bike. There’s little question that the motorcyclist could’ve easily become just another statistic.

Impressively, he’s taking full ownership of the crash. “I call it an accident but it was clearly my fault. Too much confidence for too little skill,” he says in his post about the wreck. He didn’t escape unscathed though. He sustained 20+ fractures in his face, broke one arm in two different places, fractured two spinal discs, broke a rib, and had a collapsed lung.
Nonetheless, he insists that he’ll jump on the saddle again soon, albeit with one major change. “I’ll be back to ride again one day, but not like I used to. Riding like I did was fun as hell, but I want to have fun for a long time,” he says.
It’s unfortunate that it took a wreck like this to change his behavior though. Other videos on his Instagram page clearly show a reckless riding style that ultimately led to this crash. Hopefully, someone else can learn from this example without having to try it for themselves.
