Watch Joe Rogan Fire A Broadside Arrow At The Tesla Cybertruck | Carscoops
The controversial podcaster tested the controversial truck with its controversial creator standing just feet away

The controversial trifecta of Joe Rogan, Elon Musk, and the Tesla Cybertruck recently reunited for another podcast episode. During their conversation, Rogan challenged Musk, suggesting he could penetrate the Cybertruck’s exterior with a broadside arrow. Given Musk’s earlier claim that the electric pickup was bulletproof, there was a lot on the line when Rogan let his broadside fly on video.
In the last few weeks, one Cybertruck was spotted with what appeared to be a barrage of bullet marks on its steel skin. Musk has said that he unloaded a complete Tommygun clip into that very truck. He even reiterated those remarks early on in his podcast discussion with Rogan.
Rogan dared him to let him fire an arrow at it instead and specifically said “I bet I can get in there,” referring to the truck. “I bet you can’t,” remarked Musk immediately. The two, as if boys on the playground, immediately leaped into action with Rogan retrieving a broadside arrow and a 95-lb compound bow.

Musk reminds the entire room to be wary of shrapnel and Rogan takes his position a few yards away from the Cybertruck. When he lets the arrow fly it strikes the door, creates a number of sparks, a small dent, and little else. Rogan shows off the completely destroyed arrow after the fact. The head itself is flattened and the shaft is split.
Rogan says that the 545-grain arrow was likely flying at 275 ft per second. That’s around 100 ft-lbs of energy centered on a small point. The fact that it does so little damage to the side of the Tesla is unquestionably impressive. Interestingly, Musk lets on about a few other details in the process of the discussion.
Firstly, the Cybertruck might have bulletproof door panels but the glass itself isn’t as tough. The truck will be available with bulletproof windows he says but they’ll be thick, heavy, and won’t roll down either.
0 to 60 in under 3 seconds
During the podcast, Musk also said that the “beast mode” version of the Cybertruck has a 0-60 mph (96 km/h) target time of “under three seconds.” That’s a solid goal considering that the Rivian R1T can do it in 3.3 seconds. Knocking it off by almost half of a second would be impressive too.
