Undercover Dodge Charger is spent spinning through 180 degrees, then switches on its flashing lights to show the chasing driver his big mistake

High-horsepower Dodge Chargers are frequently involved in police chases – both by the drivers doing the running and the uniformed ones doing the chasing. So maybe we can excuse one Florida cop for getting so caught up in the action that he didn’t notice he’d just pitted another cop until he’d fully spun the innocent driver through 180 degrees.
Footage uploaded to Instagram doesn’t show us the backstory to the chase, it just cuts us right to the point where the following cop car with its full lights-n-sirens package working overtime is gaining on a dark-colored Dodge Charger. The two cars go through an intersection on a green light and the car ahead dabs the brakes when he realizes the Chasing cop car is right on his tail.
It’s possible that the driver in front thinks the cop car wants to get past so is letting him get ahead, or maybe he’s off-duty and has just got that same shock we all get when a set of lights appear in our mirror and we instinctively presume we’ve been going too fast and try to quickly rub off some speed.

We don’t know and we’ve barely got time to ponder the possibilities anyway, because almost as soon as the Challenger’s driver eases off the brakes, the chasing cop uses a pit maneuver to spin him around in the middle of the two-lane road. Unlike some pitted Chargers that seem to end up spiraling off into the scenery, this one simply performs a neat 180-degree turn, presumably helped by the undercover cop’s driver training. And that same training has him quickly reaching up to the header rail to switch on his own red and blue lights to illuminate the chasing driver’s error.
“Oh, I didn’t see the lights at the back!” offers the chasing driver when confronted by the angry Charger pilot. We know that the lights weren’t flashing, so maybe he was just referring to not noticing the light units in the Charger’s rear window. Either way, we imagine he’ll be a little more careful before trying to tip his next speeder onto the grass.
