Check Your Glovebox! Ford Workers Leave Surprise For 2024 Mustang Dark Horse Buyers | Carscoops
One Mustang Dark Horse owner was recently delighted to find a note written by Ford staff, thanking him for buying the car

If you have a 2024 Ford Mustang Dark Horse in your driveway, you might want to check the glove box. That’s where owner Chris Cervenka found a handwritten note signed by two employees from the Flat Rock Assembly Plant.
The note includes kind messages, thanking Cervenka for buying the high-performance pony car, and congratulating him on the purchase. He was delighted enough by the sentiment to post about it on Instagram.
“We know that you didn’t have to buy a Mustang, you chose to,” the note reads. “We all thank you from the bottom of our hearts and welcome you to the Ford Mustang Family. You are now officially a member of the coolest family on earth!!”

The note was sweet enough that even Jim Farley, Ford’s CEO, noticed it, and said that he loved “the dedication of our manufacturing teams.” A Ford spokesperson told Carscoops that workers “selectively” left notes in the glove boxes of Mustangs leaving the factory.
It is not clear how many notes were left for Mustang owners, nor if they were exclusively written for Dark Horse buyers. However, given the length of the notes, it makes sense that they were only left selectively, since putting one in every car would be prohibitively time-consuming.
That means that Cervenka was just lucky, not chosen specifically. As his blue check-mark suggests, he isn’t just any Mustang owner, he’s also the director of marketing for Steeda Autosports, which makes aftermarket performance parts for Ford vehicles.
At any rate, the notes are a nice, personal touch, and suggest that the automaker really cares about the Mustang, and the people whose garages it is improving.
