- The two classic muscle cars were being transported on a trailer after the Rick Ross Car Show.
- Witnesses claim the truck towing the trailer was hit by an elderly driver that was traveling in the adjacent lane.
- While no footage of the crash has surfaced, video taken after the accident shows both cars will need expensive repairs.
A pair of classic Chevelles were badly damaged after a crash following the Rick Ross Car Show held in Fayetteville, Georgia last Saturday. If you’re a fan of classic muscle cars – or simply a car enthusiast in general – this is a difficult sight to see.
Footage taken at the scene of the accident shows that a GMC dually was towing a large trailer carrying the blue and silver Chevrolet Chevelle SS models away from the event. The roads are wet and it’s obvious that something has gone awry.

The blue Chevelle somehow fell off the large trailer that was carrying it and rolled onto its side, coming to a rest in the middle of the road. Curiously, a black golf cart can also be seen wedged between the blue Chevelle and the silver Chevelle.
The dark colored Chevelle was eventually flipped back onto its wheels and was left with extensive damage across the passenger side. As for the other Chevelle, it too has been damaged but didn’t fall off the trailer like its twin. One of the rear quarter panels of it has been badly dented and a rear wheel has been destroyed, indicating that it hit something – or something hit it – very hard.
An exact cause of the crash isn’t known. However, individuals commenting on one of the Instagram posts claim an elderly driver was traveling in the lane next to the GMC and trailer when he suddenly changed lanes and tapped the truck. Adding insult to injury, some of the straps holding the Chevelles in place snapped.
For the sake of the owner, we hope both of the cars were well insured and that they can be repaired. Fortunately, no one is believed to have been injured in the crash.
