- A Cadillac CTS turned in front of a C8, causing the Corvette to brake hard.
- A nearby motorist captured the minor fender bender on dashcam.
- Fortunately, the damage done to the two cars looks minimal.
Motorists cut in front of others all the time, and chances are, someone has done it to you in the past. It’s annoying and can be downright dangerous. Unfortunately for the driver of a lovely C8 Chevrolet Corvette in the U.S., getting cut off has left her car with damage, and the entire incident was shared on social media.
The crash occurred on the 1600 block of Friendswood Drive in Friendswood, Texas, at around 3:30 p.m. Dashcam footage shows a white Cadillac CTS turning right into the main road. However, rather than turning into the right-most lane, the driver carelessly pulled out into the center of the road and then crossed into the left lane, directly into the path of the Corvette.

As soon as the Corvette comes into view, the driver appears to have slammed on the brakes but wasn’t able to stop before hitting the Caddy. The front of the C8 can be seen touching the rear quarter panel of the CTS before running over the curb in the center of the road. Had the Corvette driver not been paying attention, they could have easily rear-ended the CTS, resulting in a far more dangerous collision.
We haven’t been able to find any photos that show the extent of the damage done to the cars, but the impact appears quite minor, so neither car probably suffered damage that will be overly expensive for an insurer to repair.
According to the Redditor who posted the dashcam footage, the driver of the Cadillac “was a little old lady” and pulled over. The cammer also offered to provide the driver of the Corvette with the footage of the crash.
The driver of the Cadillac appears to be responsible for the crash by failing to turn into the right-hand lane. While the C8 Corvette may have been speeding, the Cadillac driver’s maneuver seems to be the primary cause. Her view of the oncoming Corvette might have been partially obstructed by a Hyundai Palisade turning in front of her, but it’s still crucial to always triple-check blind spots before making a lane change.
