A Nissan Kei Car With A Hummer Face Conversion Won’t Fool You, But It’ll Surely Make You Smile

Offbeat

There is a Facebook Group called Unnecessary automobile nose swaps and while most posts are photoshop-edited pictures, there is a real car listing that perfectly encapsulates the group’s theme. The car hiding behind the Hummer’s face is a 1995 Nissan Rasheen coming from Japan and it is currently offered for sale in Richmond.

We guess that most won’t be familiar with the Nissan Rasheen. This small crossover with the boxy shape was produced between 1994 and 2000 and was exclusively available in the Japanese market. It shared its underpinnings with the Nissan Sunny B14 (1993-1998) and was available with the 4WD system derived from the Nissan Pulsar N14 (1990-1995).

This specific model is fitted with Nissan’s 1.5-liter twin-cam 16-valve engine producing 104 hp (77 kW / 105 PS) and 135 Nm (100 lb-ft) of torque, sending power to all four wheels through a four-speed automatic gearbox. What is more important though are the visual modifications making it look like a micro Hummer H2.

The Lummern H4 Hummer conversion, which is said to be quite popular in Japan, includes front and rear bumpers, a new grille, round headlights, marker lights, and a new hood with a Humvee-style intake. The additional components look weird on the Rasheen’s body, especially from the profile where the long front overhang looks off-balance. The aftermarket 14-inch wheels don’t help, but at least the black paint looks decent.

The modified Rasheen is offered for sale from Japanese Classics at a price of $11,995. According to the listing, the vehicle that is located in Richmond, Victoria, is legally imported to the US and recently serviced so you don’t have to worry about maintenance. The good thing is that Nissan’s 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine will be considerably less thirsty than the Hummer H2’s 6.2-liter V8 and given the compact dimensions of the Rasheed, it will be definitely easier to park. Just don’t expect to fool anyone into believing this is a real Hummer.
