To celebrate the fast-approaching release of the 25th installment in the James Bond franchise, “No Time To Die,” Aston Martin has installed a replica of the original 1965 Corgi DB5 model toy box at Battersea Power Station in London.
The box is a faithful recreation of the original that housed the 1965 toy made to give the UK’s children a chance to experience some of the fun of being James Bond in “Goldfinger.” In fact, the toy was such an immediate success that it won Toy of the Year at the National Association of Toy Retailers Awards the year that it was released and is now highly sought after by collectors.
Like the original toy, the giant Corgi box also contains a recreation of the original “Goldfinger” Aston Martin DB5. Complete with a bulletproof shield, pop-up machine guns, and more, the car inside is one of the company’s 25 DB5 Goldfinger Continuation cars.

“Aston Martin’s relationship with James Bond spans decades and the DB5 is, without question, the most famous car in the world by virtue of its 50-plus year association,” said Marek Reichman, Chief Creative Officer at Aston Martin Lagonda. “Now, to work with Corgi – another quintessential British brand – and to see James Bond’s most cherished car sitting inside a to-scale toy box in central London is quite outstanding.”
Made to celebrate the movie’s 55th anniversary, the cars are an authentic recreation of the Aston Martin DB5 that appeared on-screen “Goldfinger.” All are finished in Silver Birch and feature only very minor updates for usability’s sake.
The unveiling also marks the start of a new ad campaign celebrating the launch of the upcoming James Bond film, “No Time To Die.” The movie will feature four Aston Martins, the most that have ever appeared in a single Bond film.
Along with the classic DB5, a classic Aston Martin V8 will also appear, as will a DBS and the brand’s upcoming mid-engine hypercar, the Valhalla. “No Time To Die” is set to release globally from September 2021.
Londoners will be able to check out the full-size Corgi toy box at the Battersea Power Station until October 1.
