After a judge ruled that he couldn’t drive the Charger Hellcat in question, it appears as though the 20-year-old is ignoring the law

‘Belltown Hellcat’ Faces $83,000 In Fines – And His Mom May Be In Trouble, Too

  • The driver of a loud Dodge dubbed the “Belltown Hellcat” is facing $83,000 in fines over his behavior.
  • Authorities say that despite a court order to stop driving the car and to correct its exhaust, he has failed to comply.
  • Now, his mother, who actually owns the car, has written to officials but might be in hot water herself.

A young man who still can’t legally purchase alcohol is facing serious consequences for “doing his thing” in Seattle. That “thing” is allegedly reckless driving and waking the neighbors in the middle of the night with a Dodge Charger Hellcat. The man in question, Miles Hudson, 20, is now facing some $83,000 in penalties.

Hudson’s online antics in his Charger have garnered him several hundred thousand followers. In April, he faced two charges of reckless driving and was ordered to stop driving the car. In addition, he was supposed to return the exhaust to “noise-compliant” by April 15. According to a Seattle city attorney, he’s failed to comply with both directions.

As a result, it’s seeking an $83,000 judgment against Hudson who, incidentally, doesn’t even own the car in question. In fact, it’s his mother who owns the vehicle and she wrote to the attorney’s office to say that he no longer drives the car and that she was working to have it fixed. In a document found by KOMO News, it appears as though she might be in hot water too.

“The videos above show that Hudson in fact, does have possession of the car, and no work was done to make the car anywhere close to being noise-compliant. For making these materially false statements to the court, Rebecca Hudson should be investigated and charged for perjury,” it says. Whether or not that happens is up for debate.

What’s not in question is that the city is seeking $1,300 for every day that the car isn’t in compliance. A hearing about the potential default judgment, which is specifically against Miles, will take place on June 18.

Before that, on June 12, he’ll deal with his reckless driving charges in court where he’s already pleaded not guilty. Lots of folks do dumb things behind the wheel but there’s a special level of dumb for those who then post the evidence on social media. It sure seems to catch up with them often.
