A BMW M4 Competition has been left in the most precarious of positions after a dramatic crash in London, slamming into a bicycle stand on the sidewalk.
There is no footage of the crash yet, making it difficult to determine the cause. Video captured the aftermath showing the M4 resting on the sidewalk, partly balanced against a black rail for locking bicycles. It crushed a bike in the incident, and the passenger’s side rear wheel was ripped off and somehow ended up underneath the sports car.

The bizarre scene unfolded on Thursday along Stoke Newington Road in Dalston, East London. The impact with the bicycle stand and the curb must have been quite substantial, as it didn’t just tear off one of the wheels, but one of the car’s brake calipers also fell off and cracked in half. Extensive damage can also be seen across the front of the Beemer. The carbon fiber side skirts have also taken quite a beating.
Incredibly, social media users say the M4 driver fled the scene, abandoning the expensive ride and leaving it in a very awkward position. There are no reports of injuries, but things could have been much worse had the bicycle stand not been there to stop the M4.
The BMW M4 is a serious performance car that’s not to be underestimated. In standard guise, its 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged straight-six delivers 473 hp and 406 lb-ft (550 Nm) of torque, while those figures rise to 503 hp and 479 lb-ft (649 Nm) in the M4 Competition, which this car appears to be. Things can quickly go wrong in powerful sports cars like this with an inexperienced or overconfident driver behind the wheel, and this is a prime example of one such incident.
