It’s unclear as to exactly what caused the damage to the front end of the Mustang Dark Horse, though it’s been suggested that it might have slipped on the trailer

The S650 2024 Ford Mustang hasn’t had the best rollout, experiencing such issues as halted production runs, $10k markups, and even mismatched seats. Adding to the laundry list of hiccups is this incident, in which a brand new 2024 Mustang Dark Horse arrived at a Ford dealership already crashed.
The Carbonized Grey Mustang suffered substantial damage to its front end, with an entire chunk of the lower bumper and splitter taken out and left hanging on by a thread. The areas of the splitter surrounding the gash appear to be bent as well.

It’s unclear how the damage was caused, but given the rain in the photo, commenters on the original Reddit post believe the car may have slipped on the carrier, allowing it to hit either another car or the frame of the truck. Some joked that the car came pre-crashed, alluding to the Mustang’s infamous reputation of crashing out at Cars and Coffee events.

Regardless, it’s sad to see this happen to such a highly anticipated car that’s just hitting dealerships, and it’s even sadder considering this car starts at nearly $60,000 and can climb to nearly $85,000 with options. Unfortunately, repairing the damage on this Mustang will only add to the cost, though we can’t imagine it would be passed on to the consumer. With that being said, given the kind of markups being seen on other Dark Horses, repair costs would probably be the least of a potential buyer’s worries.
