Continental cyberattack being investigated by German prosecutors, report says

German prosecutors are investigating a cyberattack on Continental, Handelsblatt newspaper reported, citing a spokesperson who declined to go into further details.

Continental had said on Monday that a cyberattack it reported in August had resulted in some data being stolen from the company.

Handelsblatt reported on Monday that 40 terabyte of data had been stolen during the attack, and that the cyberattackers had demanded a ransom.
