The driver of a sixth-generation Corvette escaped major injuries after what is reported to be an ill-fated attempt to leave a car show, resulting in his sports car ending up on its roof. A photo depicting the aftermath of the incident was shared by the fire department.
The incident occurred at around 4:40 p.m. on Saturday, October 21, in Ridge, Maryland. The driver was reportedly leaving a car show that was being held at the American Legion Post 255, which is located in the area.
Fortunately, the Corvette C6 was the only vehicle involved in the accident. The Corvetteblogger citing SMNews Net reports that the driver was out of the vehicle and walking around by the time emergency crews arrived on the scene.

Following the incident, the owner of the Corvette was examined by medics, but they declined transportation to a hospital. No serious injuries were reported, and it is not clear at this time if the driver received any citations following the crash.
Reports indicate that the driver was attempting to complete a burnout on their way out of the show. While the exact circumstances leading to the incident are not fully clear, the photo would suggest that the Corvette ended up on the grass, its wheel dug into the soft soil, causing it to roll. There is also a curb around the grassy section on which the car came to a rest, which may have helped roll it, especially if it was traveling sideways as the driver lost control in the wake of their burnout attempt.
Whatever the specific course of events, the Corvette ended up on its roof, and in bad shape. Unfortunately, the damage is unlikely to buff out, but the driver can consider themselves lucky not to have been hurt worse. If this accident and a handful of other recent ones have taught us anything, it’s that Corvette drivers have as many lives as cats.
