Police have arrested a man in West Palm Beach, Florida, after he allegedly robbed a Boost Mobile store and sped off in a stolen U-Haul truck, triggering a chase with police.
Local authorities received a call at around 10 a.m. on January 11, 2024, from an employee at the Boost Mobile store off South Dixie Highway. She said the 26-year-old man, demanded cell phones and her purse. During the robbery, his hand was allegedly in his pocket, causing the worker to suspect he may have been carrying a weapon.
The National Desk reports that police arrived at the scene and obtained surveillance footage showing the man leaving the store in a stolen U-Haul truck. They quickly tracked its plates and found him speeding through red lights and running stop signs. The man was swiftly pursued by police and a dramatic video shared on social media captured the final moments of the chase.

In the clip, the man can be seen speeding through a red light with police in tow. He slams into the front quarter panel of a Ford Explorer police cruiser waiting on the other side of the intersection before jumping the sidewalk, crashing through poles, and eventually coming to a stop near a BP gas station.
The 26-year-old was arrested and charged with fleeing and eluding, battery on an officer, resisting arrest, and robbery. The police officer inside the Ford that was hit by the U-Haul truck suffered minor injuries and was taken to a local hospital.
Speaking with WPTV, detectives stated that they were able to identify the man because he had been arrested the month prior for a carjacking.
