Ford Mustang Driver Finally Figures Out How To Disable His Vehicle | Carscoops
Here’s a tip: if you can’t handle the power, don’t turn off the traction and/or stability controls

- The driver could have easily eased off the throttle but did the exact opposite.
- Despite the hefty impact, they apparently walked away uninjured.
Yet another Ford Mustang has had its life cut short by an overly ambitious driver who simply couldn’t handle the power beneath the hood. As is often the case with incidents like this, the whole thing could have been easily avoided had the driver not been so quick to floor the throttle. Unfortunately, this is a story we’ve seen far too many times before.
The clip, shared to Reddit, shows the Mustang making a right-hand turn, rear wheels spinning furiously as the driver struggles to regain control. At first, it looks like they might have the situation under control, but they’re too slow to react, nearly spinning out and crashing into a curb. Most people would have recognized this as a warning sign to ease off the throttle, take a breath, and slow down. Not this driver.

Instead, they plant the throttle yet again, sending the pony car fishtailing down the road as it struggles to put the power down to the ground. Moments later, it slides to the right and crests a curb. It then streaks across the sidewalk before the rear end slams into something solid – likely a tree or one of the poles. The force of this impact lifts up the ‘Stang and almost instantaneously brings it to a stop. Just before the video cuts out, it seems the car rolls onto its roof.
Remarkably, the poster claims the driver of the Mustang walked away from the wreck without any injuries, though we haven’t been able to track down images showing the aftermath of the crash. Regardless, it’s safe to say this pony car won’t be returning to the road anytime soon—if at all. The damage appears severe enough to end its life as a roadworthy vehicle.
Like other similar incidents involving high-powered sports cars, this crash shows just how quickly you can lose control if you’ve switched off traction / stability control and can’t handle the power on tap. A more skilled driver would probably have been able to control the car better and prevent it from spearing off the road. However, no matter how skilled you are, reckless driving on public roads is never acceptable; it puts everyone in danger.
And as for our Mustang enthusiast? Well, it looks like their lesson on power and control has been learned the hard way.
