The driver of a green Ford Mustang Boss 302 was taken to hospital with serious injuries after losing control of his vehicle and crashing into a power pole. Witnesses say that excessive speed was a factor in the accident that sent the vehicle airborne.
In a TikTok video from the scene, the aftermath of damage wrought in the accident is shown. The Mustang’s front bumper has been torn off, the rear end blown off, and suspension parts and broken wheels can be seen littering the street. A concrete pole that was broken in half acts as evidence of just how violent the initial impact was.
The accident occurred just before 12:30 p.m. on Hildreth Street, in Lowell, Massachusetts. Although an official police reconstruction of the incident has not yet been released, people who live near the location of the accident told WCVB that they estimated the driver was going 100 mph (160 km/h) before crashing.

The Mustang eventually came to a rest in the front yard of a house on Hildreth Street. Although it destroyed a fence, it stopped before reaching the home. Osarehinwen Foster-Efosa, who lives there, told NBC Boston that he rushed outside after hearing a bang, only to find the vehicle on his lawn.
“So I called 911, they got here as soon as they could, but he was hurt. There’s still blood over there,” said Foster-Efosa. “Thank God he didn’t die, but it was shocking.”
Other witnesses on the scene said the driver was screaming in pain as they awaited first responders. They tried to calm him down, but removing him from the vehicle eventually required firefighters to use the jaws of life.
Footage of the Mustang being removed from the scene shows that the roof had to be cut off to rescue the driver from the mangled wreckage. He was eventually taken to a trauma center in Boston, his condition is not clear.
