Ford Mustang Gone Wild Takes Out A Classic Chevy C10 Pickup

Offbeat

Mustang drivers have a reputation for not being able to properly control their ponies. That notoriety comes in large part thanks to many accidents happening in front of cameras at the end of automotive events. One such incident where a Mustang driver plowed into a classic C10 pickup truck proves that some of these accidents cause a lot more damage than just to the reputation of the Mustang community.

Video of the original incident was first posted on TikTok back on the same day it occurred, July 7. In it, we can see the person behind the camera completely ignoring the Mustang until they hear screeching tires.

They pan over just in time for us to see the car lose control and swerve into oncoming traffic, then over the curb and into the grass. The driver is able to direct the car back onto the road but not before significant damage to the side of a 1969 Chevrolet C10 pickup truck.

That truck is now the main subject of a follow-up video by its owner, Wesley Moore. In it, he shows us the accident itself from two angles before taking us on a quiet point-by-point visual inspection of the damage. Most apparent is the giant dent in the bedside just above the rear driver’s-side tire.

Not only has the paint been completely scraped away from the top of the fender but the chrome brightwork from the beltline has been heavily damaged too. The lower rear quarter panel has a similar dent and damage. Moore then walks down the side of the truck where we see smaller but still significant damage that will now need to be repaired.

Evidently, there’s damage from the incident as far forward as the very end of the door. The saddest fact is that Moore says this is the original sheet metal. In a moment of ignorance, the Mustang driver took a chunk out of this truck that can’t ever be quite put back in the exact same way.

In a longer walk-around, Moore shows us how beautifully he’s kept this truck. Even the rubber bed liner pulls up with a satisfying sticky sound denoting how clean the two surfaces are. We hope to see this truck back on the road in as close to original condition as possible sooner rather than later.
