Franck Dominique Louis-Victor, the CEO of Ford Next, was arrested outside his home following a domestic dispute. The executive is being charged with arson and assault with a dangerous weapon.

Oakland County Police in Michigan say that Louis-Victor was involved in a domestic violence altercation on Saturday, July 8. While details remain scant, he reportedly attempted to set two high-end handbags on fire.

As a result, he is being charged with arson – preparation to burn property worth between $1,000 and $20,000, according to Click on Detroit. In addition, he faces charges of assault with a dangerous weapon, though details on that allegation have not been released.

“We are aware of what has been reported in the press, but it would be inappropriate to comment on personal matters,” a Ford spokesperson told the outlet in a statement.

Louis-Victor is the CEO of Ford Next, which is described as a “global venture studio focused on Ford’s next 120 years.” It is tasked with incubating and launching “vehicle-adjacent business ventures that create value for Ford.” Among its responsibilities is the development of autonomous vehicle technologies and mobility services for the automaker.

Ford Next also recently launched Ford Drive, a new leasing program that aims to make it easier for Uber drivers to transition to an electric vehicle by providing them with special incentives, and shorter-term leasing deals.

The executive joined Ford in 2021, and before that worked at Renault. There, he was the vice president of new media and services innovation.

Louis-Victor was arraigned at 48th District Court and is being held on a $25,000 bond.
