- The men allegedly stole 120 vehicles between February 2023 and July 2023.
- Thieves targeted high-end models from BMW, Porsche, Bentley, and Rolls-Royce.
- At least 19 Husqvarna motorcycles and 11 dirt bikes were also stolen.
US authorities have charged four men from Rhode Island for allegedly stealing millions of dollars worth of luxury vehicles from dealerships across Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Connecticut, and Pennsylvania. The thefts, targeting some of the most high-end brands on the market, span multiple states and mark a staggering operation in auto theft.
According to court documents, 28-year-old Belter Giron, 24-year-old Alberto Rivera, 32-year-old Richard Robinson, and 27-year-old Onix Eduardo are accused of breaking into more than a dozen car dealerships between February 2023 and July 2023. During this five-month spree, they allegedly made off with around 120 vehicles, including models from premium brands like BMW, Porsche, Bentley, Rolls-Royce, Mercedes, and Land Rover. The total value of the stolen vehicles is estimated at around $5 million.

In addition to charges related to the actual thefts, the four men face conspiracy charges for the interstate transportation of stolen property. Court filings further allege that, aside from lifting high-end cars, the group stole nineteen Husqvarna motorcycles from a Pennsylvania dealership and swiped eleven dirt bikes from a dealer in Phillipston, Massachusetts. The scope of their operation stretched far beyond the typical smash-and-grab, with a mix of exotic cars and off-road machines making up their haul.
Authorities have analyzed communications between members of the group and uncovered conversations related to vehicle thefts and efforts to sell the stolen vehicles. Police claim that Giron brokered the sale of stolen vehicles to associates within and outside of Rhode Island. Both Giron and Robinson were captured on video in the driveway of a house, putting a cover over a Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk that was stolen one day earlier.
Police have since recovered 41 vehicles and eleven dirt bikes that were linked to the theft ring. Most of the vehicles were recovered in Rhode Island and Massachusetts. A Range Rover allegedly snatched by the group was recovered from a shipping container in New Jersey and was heading to Africa.
As of now, Alberto Rivera remains in custody at the Rhode Island Adult Correctional Institution, while both Belter Giron and Onix Eduardo are being held in federal custody. Robinson, however, has been released on bond pending further legal proceedings.
