Is The Kia EV6 Going To Be Your First (Or Next) Electric Car?

Reviews

The Kia EV6 could be the most important model launched by the South Korean car manufacturer in recent years. Does it live up to the hype?

Mat Watson from CarWow recently had the opportunity to put it through its paces. The variant tested was the GT-Line and was actually a prototype. It features dual electric motors producing a combined 325 hp and during this review, an impressive 0-60 mph (96 km/h) time of 4.82 seconds was recorded.

The majority of the review is focused on the exterior and interior design of the EV6, with only the final few minutes focusing on what the car is like to drive over normal roads.

Unlike the Hyundai Ioniq 5 that has a retro-inspired interior, the cabin of the EV6 is more similar to other Kia models, although that’s no bad thing. It includes a large digital instrument cluster and infotainment screen housed within a single piece of curved glass and a floating center console that offers heaps of storage space.

Rear-seat passengers of the EV6 have loads of leg room thanks to the car’s long wheelbase, although the reviewer notes that passengers over 6-foot tall may brush their hair on the headliner.

Not long after the first EV6 models start to reach the hands of customers, the flagship GT variant will hit the market. It will feature two powerful electric motors combining to produce 576 hp, allowing the car to hit 60 mph (96 km/h) in just 3.5 seconds.
