Jeep Rear-Ends Mercedes Thrice, Blames Victim, Dashcam Exposes Him

  • A dashcam video shows a Jeep driver ramming the Mercedes ahead of him.
  • According to the Mercedes driver, the Jeep driver lied to the police.
  • Officers allegedly charged the Jeep driver after seeing the dashcam footage.

Getting rear-ended isn’t fun for any driver. What’s worse is when the same driver hits you three times. On top of that, the driver in question tells the police that it wasn’t their fault. According to one Mercedes owner, that was exactly what happened. Of course, officers charged the ramming driver as soon as they saw the dashcam video.

The vehicle in question is a Jeep Cherokee and it’s coming up behind the dashcam car in the rearview mirror quickly. According to the original poster over on Reddit, he was trundling down the road above the speed limit in his Mercedes C43 AMG when the crash happened.

What’s stranger though is that this doesn’t appear to be a simple accident. The Jeep driver hits the Mercedes from behind and doesn’t back off. Instead, he continues on and bumps the AMG two more times before the pair pull over. According to the Mercedes driver, things actually got worse from there.

“He stopped voluntarily after he rolled forwards for a bit, came out of his car saying why I hit him and why I was going so fast. He demanded my insurance information and then took off once we traded. Went to the police afterwards and they took care of citing him with a few infractions… someone who decides to ram the car in front of them probably isn’t fully right in the head. I just kind of let him say what he wanted”, they said.

Thankfully, the dashcam video saved this driver from blame and responsibility here. All of this is just one more reminder to pick up a dashcam should you be on the fence about it, as this is another clear example of why they’re valuable. Had this Mercedes driver not had one, there’s no telling how this story would’ve turned out.
