Meet The McLambo: See Where The Huracan STO Configurator Can Take You

Offbeat

In their pursuit of endless possibilities, luxury automakers have to offer countless colors and options, most of which can be accessed through the configurator. Not every combination is a winner, though, as we shall prove today.

The Lamborghini Huracan STO‘s configurator is a prime example of that, offering customers seven paint genres, each with its own collection of colors inside. From colors that are termed basic to contemporary to the classic and more, I counted 79 hues to choose from in all.

With another six contrast options to pick from, there’s no shortage of familiar color combinations to pick from. That’s why I chose to paint my high-price, ultra-exclusive Lamborghini supercar in honor of one of the most mass-market brands on earth: McDonald’s.

The classic red and yellow livery could be spotted from a mile away and, indeed, often is on long road trips. Between the Giallo Belenus accents and the Rosso Cadens paint, the color scheme is already most of the way there. However, I find that the Magnesio rims and the CCMR Brake calipers in Yellow really round the look out.

Inside, I was a little more constrained in my color options, a predominant black being inevitable. I was able to express my love for sizable Macs with Rosso Efesto seatbelts and Giallo Belenus accents.

The results, I think, speak for themselves. The car is an homage—an ode even to the burger-flipper par excellence and I think there’s something to the tension between the desperate and the divine, the limited and the limitless here that really speaks to our current moment.

There are endless possibilities to play with, though, so we invite you to post your finest (or oddest) configuration in the comments below.

Powered by a 5.2-liter, naturally-aspirated V10 that makes 631 hp (640 PS/470 kW) and 417 lb-ft (565 Nm) of torque, the engine funnels all of its efforts to the rear wheels exclusively. With 95 lbs (43 kg) of unnecessary weight discarded, too, no matter what it looks like, it’s sure to impress on track.
