Millionaire’s McLaren Senna GTR Finds Permanent Home On 57th Floor Of Australia’s Priciest Penthouse

An ultra-expensive property in Melbourne, Australia has become even more exclusive with the addition of a McLaren Senna GTR. The supercar was lifted to its new home, a penthouse on the 57th floor of the twin towers on La Trobe Street, by a crane, drawing the attention of onlookers.

An eight-man crew was used to transport the vehicle from the ground all the way to one of the top floors of the newly built towers. The McLaren was loaded onto a crane and carefully lifted to the upper floors. A few minutes later, the unconventional elevator reached its destination and the supercar was driven into the apartment, reminiscent of the famous Lykan Hypersport scene from the Fast and Furious franchise.

The news of the McLaren Senna GTR being housed in an ultra-expensive Melbourne penthouse was shared on Instagram by multi-millionaire Adrian Portelli, who made headlines with both of his purchases. The luxurious penthouse recently broke the record for Australia’s most expensive property, selling at AU$39 million (US$26.3 million), while the 2020 McLaren Senna GTR was listed as the country’s most expensive used car, priced at AU$3 million (US$2 million).

Portelli’s decision to bring the track-only supercar to his new penthouse was due to its non-road legal status. The owner admits that the luxurious apartment will most likely be the forever home of the supercar, as it would be nearly impossible to bring it back on the road after construction work in the twin towers building is completed. As for the cost, the Australian businessman revealed that transporting the unusual furniture into the penthouse was included in the original price as part of the deal.

Portelli makes a living as a property investor and the founder of the LMCT+ rewards club, which explains the altered graphics on the Malboro-themed livery of the McLaren. The vehicle will now serve as a centerpiece in his new apartment, making for a great conversation starter alongside the amazing views of Melbourne.

The McLaren Senna GTR debuted in 2019 as a track-only version of the Senna in a limited production of only 75 units. The screaming twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 produces 814 hp (627 kW / 825 PS) and is combined with a track-focused setup and extreme aerodynamics.

Those were likely the last times that the McLaren was driven before parking in the luxurious apartment. Luckily, Portelli has other exotic vehicles in his collection that he can legally drive on the streets, including a Lamborghini Aventador SVJ and a Murcielago SV.
