Multi-Million Supercar Pile Up Includes Ferrari LaFerrari, 812 Superfast, And McLaren Elva

  • A group of supercars crashed while descending a twisty mountain road.
  • The four vehicles involved are collectively worth several million dollars.
  • The cause of the super-expensive accident remains unclear,.

Details and facts are thin on this one, but let’s hope none of us are having as catastrophic a day as these drivers. Between the four of them, they’ve managed to crash cars collectively worth several million dollars. The least expensive vehicle in this rather exclusive game of bumper cars is estimated to be worth about $300,000 pre-wreck—though there’s a slim chance it escaped unscathed.

What we can see in the photo is rough. It appears as though these cars came together as the group was descending a twisty mountain road. The officers in the photo have uniforms that match those of the Austrian police. At least three of the cars have some visible damage and it’s unclear if the Bentley ended up involved or not.

One poster over on Reddit claims the crash happened in Pfunds, Austria. That’s a scenic area near several mountain ranges. Since there is no signage, we can’t say for sure where exactly it happened, but we can get a bead on the value of the three cars involved. At the front is a McLaren Elva worth somewhere in the neighborhood of $1.8 million.

Behind it appears to be a Ferrari LaFerrari worth, on its own, around $5 million (or even more, depending on mileage and condition). It looks like it contacted the McLaren and then also got hit from the rear. The car behind it is a Ferrari 812 Superfast worth around $500,000. If they are the only three involved, they’re worth north of seven million on their own. Or, they were, before the wreck that is. If the Bentley Continental also crashed, then stack another $300,000 on top of the total.

For now, there are no reports from police or other authorities about what happened here. It could be that the weather wasn’t optimal and the cars simply couldn’t stop fast enough on slick roads. Of course, it could also be a case of too many dollars and not enough driving sense.

A Lesson in Safe Distance

If anything, the driver of the LaFerrari had about five million reasons to keep a safe distance. We’ve reached out to those who claim to have additional information about this crash. We’ll update this space if we hear more that we can confirm about it.
