  • A Mustang driver’s failed power slide at a car meet ended in a collision with a sign.
  • Luckily, the vehicle didn’t strike any spectators who were gathered around.
  • As with many pony car crashes, the driver seemed a bit too eager with the throttle.

If you’re in the market for a powerful, rear-wheel-drive sports car, the Ford Mustang is right up there. While it’s good the famous pony car is relatively affordable, the downside is that they can often end up in the hands of enthusiasts who don’t know how to handle all of that power. Case in point: the driver of this black Mustang in the US.

Incidents of Ford Mustang drivers crashing while leaving car events have become so commonplace nowadays that it’s now almost more surprising for a car meet to be held without a Mustang crashing than it is for a Mustang to crash at an event.

In this case, the driver of the Mustang hit the throttle while making a right-hand turn to leave the event, spinning up the rear wheels and kicking out the tail. However, it seems the driver was unable to correct the slide in time, and the car continued to slide to the right, jumping over a curb and crossing into a grassy area on the side of the road.

After crossing into the grass, the driver briefly hit the brakes but then accelerated again in an attempt to get back up to the road. The only problem was that there was a large street sign in the way, and the driver slammed right into it, pushing the sign down onto the road and inevitably damaging the front end of the Ford.

Those attending the event who witnessed the hilarious crash got quite a kick out of it, and we don’t blame them. Had we seen this crash in the flesh, we probably would have burst out laughing too.
