Police Chase Ends With Chrysler Pacifica Plunging Into A Pool

Pools might be closed for the season, but that didn’t stop one Pittsburgh resident from taking their vehicle for a dip.

According to the Allegheny County Sheriff’s Office, 31-year-old Jeremy Neal was “involved in suspicious activity” at a BP gas station on Wednesday night. This caused deputies to run his vehicle’s registration and discover that he was wanted by Braddock Borough Police for a firearms violation.

With this information in hand, deputies carefully approached Neal and attempted to take him into custody. However, he refused to exit the vehicle and allegedly retrieved a handgun from his coat pocket. While Neal initially dropped the pistol, he reportedly made an attempt to reach for it.

Fortunately, he was unable to regain possession of it, and instead, he hastily put the car – which appears to be a first-generation Chrysler Pacifica – into drive and “fled at a high rate of speed.” In his desperate escape bid, Neal reportedly drove through a construction area, colliding with a trailer and a building, while narrowly avoiding two construction workers.

Deputies then lost track of Neal, but the Pittsburgh Police came across his vehicle the following evening. This sparked a large response as several law enforcement agencies descended upon Forest Hills. There, Neal tried to elude authorities once again, but his luck ran out as he crashed into the deep end of a swimming pool.

He wasn’t the only one as a “Pittsburgh Police vehicle also struck the pool, but was only partially submerged.” Thankfully no one was injured and the vehicles were removed thanks to the assistance of tow trucks and divers.
