Randy Marion Automotive buys GM, Stellantis, Honda and Kia dealerships

News

Growing Randy Marion Automotive Group bought four North Carolina dealerships in two separate first-quarter transactions to expand its portfolio in the state.

Randy Marion Automotive in Mooresville, N.C., on March 6 bought Gerry Wood Dodge of Salisbury, which also sells Chrysler, Jeep and Ram vehicles; Gerry Wood Honda; and Gerry Wood Kia from Gerry Wood, according to Randy Marion Automotive COO DJ Heller.

The dealerships, all in Salisbury, N.C., were renamed Randy Marion Chrysler-Dodge-Jeep-Ram of Salisbury, Randy Marion Honda and Randy Marion Kia. Salisbury is northeast of Charlotte.

Honda and Kia are both new brands for the group, Heller said.

“I’m excited for the diversity of our group now with having a couple more imports,” Heller told Automotive News. “Having Honda and Kia really adds to our domestic brands, along with Subaru.”

Heller said Salisbury is also a new market for Randy Marion Automotive, which has dealerships only in North Carolina.

The three-store acquisition follows the February purchase of a Chevrolet store in West Jefferson, N.C., near the Tennessee and Virginia borders.

Randy Marion Automotive on Feb. 21 bought West Jefferson Chevrolet, which also sells Buick and GMC vehicles, from the Church family, Heller said.

The dealership was renamed Randy Marion Chevrolet-Buick-GMC of West Jefferson.

In September, Randy Marion Automotive bought Ashe County Ford, also in West Jefferson.
