Renault mobility services CEO Clotilde Delbos steps down

PARIS — The head of Renault Group‘s new mobility unit Mobilize, Clotilde Delbos, is stepping down and will leave the company, the automaker said. 

Delbos is a former CFO and deputy CEO of Renault Group. She will be replaced by Mobilize COO Fedra Ribiero, who will become CEO of Mobilize Beyond Automotive, and Patrick Claude, vice president finance for Renault Group, who will be acting chairman of RCI Bank. The appointments take effect on Jan. 1, 2023.

Mobilize includes the group’s mobility services such as car sharing, as well as the financial services of the former RCI Bank, now called Mobilize Banking Services.

Delbos had joined Renault in 2012 as group controller and was a seasoned executive who had helped the transition between former boss Carlos Ghosn, who was arrested in 2018, and current CEO Luca de Meo.

She served as interim CEO after the ouster in autumn 2019 of Thierry Bollore, who replaced Ghosn, until de Meo became CEO in July 2020. Delbos was named CEO of Mobilize in February.

Renault is in the middle of a big and complex overhaul that will see it separate its activities in five businesses, deepen ties with China’s Geely and spin off its electric vehicles unit through a stock market listing next year.

The Mobilize brand is expected to account for 20 percent of group revenue by 2030.

“I would like to thank Clotilde for the way she welcomed me into the Group two years ago and for her commitment to the Renault Group Board of Management,” de Meo said in a statement.

Ribeiro joined Mobilize in November 2021 as COO from Bosch, where she was executive vice president progressive mobility. She started her career in 1998 in Portugal and has worked for Volkswagen Group, Raytheon Technologies and SPX Corporation in several countries. Ribeiro joined Bosch in 2012.

Delbos joined Renault as group controller in 2012, and was named CFO in 2016. Delbos, who has a degree from EM Lyon, started her career at PriceWaterhouse in Paris. In 1992 she joined the Pechiney Group, an aluminum conglomerate, where she held various positions in finance and management. She continued with the company through acquisitions by Alcan and Apollo Global Management prior to joining Renault. 

Delbos was named a Eurostar by Automotive News Europe in 2021 for providing stability at Renault during two difficult years. She was key in developing the group’s 2 billion euro savings plan in early 2020. She won her first ANE Eurostar award in 2018.
