Ride Along During Police Chase Of AMG Sedan From Inside The Mercedes

  • Dashcam caught an Australian police chase from start to finish from inside the fleeing vehicle.
  • The conversation between the driver and passenger in the car revealed some strange thoughts.
  • Ultimately, they crashed after a Ford Ranger hit them after they ran a red light.

Police chases happen all over the world and often end up captured forever on video. Sometimes that film comes from overhead aerial support while other times it comes from police dashcams. In this case, the stolen vehicle in question had a dashcam that recorded the chase and everything the suspects said from start to finish.

The pursuit happened in Melbourne, Australia on June 17th. The car in question is a Mercedes-AMG sedan that appears to be a CLA35 or CLA45. The start of the video kicks off with the pair in the car debating about what to do. “We’re gonna have to run,” a man says to a woman in the car. “Just go out, just drive right past them,” she replies.

It turns out that law enforcement officers were waiting for the pair at the exit of a parking lot. As they leave the lot, one officer uses a stop stick to puncture one of the tires on the car while commanding them to stop. Instead, the driver stops on the go pedal and leaves the scene at speed. “Go baby go!” the female in the car can be heard screaming at the driver. Police appear to give chase but aren’t able to immediately catch up.

“Now how’s that for drivin’ darlin’,” he retorts after driving down an alley and making a single left-hand turn. What’s that saying about pride coming before a fall? This driver appears to have no idea about that because the rest of his day gets progressively worse.

From that point forward just about every direction he goes is full of traffic. The couple talks about what to do and debates about ditching it. They decide it’s better to try to find a tram where they can ditch the car and then immediately hop on public transport. They don’t get that far though because, seemingly with no visual evidence from either the forward or rear-facing dashcams, they all of a sudden believe officers are directly on their tail.

In reality, it doesn’t appear as though anyone is actively chasing them. That doesn’t stop the driver from running a red light where he’s hit by a truck. The sedan spins out of control, hits a parked car, and the couple gets out and runs. Police are close enough that they nab each and haul them off to jail. Authorities didn’t release any personal info about either suspect.
