A Belgian football player has been hospitalized after crashing a car through the wall of a sports hall in a dramatic crash that was caught on film.
The 25-year-old, Sofian Kiyine, can be seen traveling at a high rate of speed in the moments before the crash. His vehicle, which was reportedly a Mercedes-Benz, though it’s hard to tell from the video, then appears to hit something on the road or next to the road, sending the car soaring through the sky before it slams into the side of the sports hall, bashing a massive hole into the building.

Images shared to social media show the devastation left by the crash in the sports hall. The car can be seen resting on its side, surrounded by hundreds of pieces of car parts and materials from the sports hall. It’s a shocking sight to see and it’s quite remarkable that Kiyine was able to survive the crash.
These photos also reveal that Kiyine slammed into a roundabout and that the concrete edges of the roundabout acted as a ramp, sending him and his car soaring through the air.

Britain’s Mirror news outlet says that the young footballer is being treated in hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
It’s lucky that no one inside the sports hall was injured either. In fact, Belgian outlet HLN notes that a group of children had been using the hall prior to the crash but were fortunately in the changing rooms when the car crashed through the side of the facility.
