Tell Us Who’s Wrong In This Battle Between An RV YouTuber And A Ford Shelby Mustang GT500

Recently an accident took place involving an RV driven by a YouTuber and a Shelby Mustang GT500. The large recreational vehicle slammed into the side of the pony car as it tried to merge into the former vehicle’s lane. What we’re here to find out is who you blame and why.

At the helm of the RV is a guy named Eric Jacobs, who also runs a YouTube channel called The Nomadic Fanatic where he posts regular videos of his travels across the nation. Yesterday, he posted to his Patreon account about a “Hit & Run in LA”. Interestingly enough, he didn’t mention it anywhere else but this video seems to show the incident in question.

What’s odd is that the Shelby Mustang GT500 that he hits doesn’t run away whatsoever. The driver actually gets out, looks at his car (probably assessing the damage) and then walks, possibly towards the RV. On the other hand, it’s not the first time that Jacobs has been suspected of fabricating stories or details.

And that’s weird because not only does the Mustang driver cross a solid white line to enter the turning lane, but he does so at the last possible moment and in a position where most RV drivers would never see them. It would seem that just those facts would be good enough for a story.

On the other hand, Jacobs has far more driving experience behind the wheel of his recreational vehicle than the average RV owner (since it’s also his home) and he has a bevy of different cameras around it. That fact is even backed up by a sign affixed to the rear of his RV that says “Smile, you’re on camera”. So we wonder who’s actually at fault here.

In some states, the law would dictate that the RV driver bears responsibility since no accident would’ve happened if they had stopped moving forward once the Mustang was already in their lane. Of course, there’s no doubt that the GT500 driver made a pretty boneheaded move by driving into that lane when he did.

So, who’s to blame here? Is it the veteran RV driver who doesn’t apply his brakes til he’s hit the Mustang or the Shelby owner who played chicken with a recreational vehicle and lost? Tell us below!
