Tesla is making its second entry into the world of beverages with a new product that ought to appeal to all the hop heads out there. GigaBier is a pilsner-style beer that is brewed in Germany, and is only being sold in Europe.
Following up on the Tesla Tequila, the limited-edition beer is brewed near Tesla‘s German plant, in Berlin. It is made using the automaker’s own, proprietary strain of hops. Appropriately enough, they’re called Cyberhops, and are described as having aromas of citrus, bergamot, and sweet fruit.
“Tesla GigaBier is designed to emulate the form of Cybertruck while honoring the 500-year tradition of German Reinheitsgebot beermaking,” the company says on its website. “Enjoy this limited edition pilsner-style beer brewed in Berlin with our exclusive strain of Cyberhops and notes of citrus, bergamot and sweet fruit.”
Each bottle is contained within a “seamless gloss black sleeve with a seamless gloss black sleeve with a glow-in-the-dark Giga watermark.” I don’t know about you, but I was a little disappointed to discover that that’s just a sleeve, and not the actual bottle. At any rate, each contains 330 ml (11.1 Fl Oz.) of beer, and they’re sold in packs of three for a staggering €89 on Tesla’s site.

That’s the equivalent of $96.61 USD at current exchange rates, but that number won’t help American buyers very much since GigaBier is not being offered stateside (for now, at least). Tesla says it has partnered with BrouwUnie for this promotional product, which specializes in importing and exporting beer between the U.S. and Europe, so it doesn’t seem impossible for the beer to eventually be offered in, say, Austin, Texas, where the Cybertruck may someday be built.

In the meantime, Americans may be able to buy the bottles on eBay, where private sellers reportedly sold bottles of Tesla’s Tequila for more than $1,000, per Teslarati. Those who want to order it directly from the Tesla website will have to live in one of the following countries: Austria, Belgium, Switzerland, Czech Republic, Germany, Denmark, Spain, Finland, France, United Kingdom, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, and Sweden.
GigaBier was first teased in 2021, when Tesla CEO Elon Musk attended the opening of the Berlin Gigafactory. Its release now coincides with the factory reaching a weekly production rate of 5,000 vehicles, reports Benzinga.
