Tesla Model S Yanks A Stuck Rivian R1T Out Of A Snow Bank | Carscoops
Here’s a bit of good samaritan behavior between two electric vehicle owners

It’s not every day that we see electric vehicle owners of rival brands help one another out of a jam. Many times we’ll see them take jabs at one another in internet comment sections but one Tesla owner recently found it in their heart to help a Rivian R1T who was high-centered on a snowbank. The all-electric sedan might not be the obvious choice as a tow vehicle but it looked right at home.
In case you’ve not seen the news lately, many areas of the United States are dealing with serious snowfall recently. While we can’t confirm where this video that was discovered by Insideevs is actually from, it’s clear that wherever it is, it’s had its fair share of snow too. How the Rivian R1T ended up stuck is anyone’s guess though.
From the very beginning of the video, all we can tell is that the truck is stuck in a snow bank that’s deep enough for the white stuff to reach almost halfway up the doors. Why did it decide to go the way it did when it looks as though every other one of the 20 or so cars in the video managed to arrive at their locations without getting stuck? We also do not know.

What we do know is that the Tesla Model S that gets hooked up to the Rivian seems to have little problem pulling it back out of the drift. That’s impressive for a whole host of reasons, not least of which is how much the Rivian R1T weighs. Quad motors and a giant battery pack mean that it tips the scales at something like 7,150 pounds (3,243 kg).

That’s curb weight too so the one we see here is likely heavier as it’s carrying at least the driver plus whatever other stuff is in the cabin. The Model S weighs somewhere around 4,750 pounds (2,154 kg) and it’s managing to pull the Rivian out despite limited traction. We’d call that a win for everyone involved here.
