Texas Police Track Down Mustang Owner Who Trolled Them Online

The Houston Police Officers’ Union has found that the best way to catch a troll is to troll them back and that’s exactly what they’ve done with the owner of two heavily-modified Ford Mustangs, revealing to the world where he lives and what he looks like.

The back and forth between the owner of the Mustangs and the authorities appear to have started recently when the owner posted a video of his car to social media with a fake license plate reading ‘Will Run,’ suggesting he would flee if police ever caught him street racing. He soon received an Instagram DM from the CHP South Los Angeles Police Department asking if he would indeed run if police were behind him. His response? “F**k around and find out.”

The admin behind the Houston Police Officers’ Union page on Facebook later started scouring through the owner’s social media posts. First, they noticed a dashcam video he shared online showed his street name and they quickly used Google Maps to trace it back to a location in Costa Mesa, California. They were then able to reference photos he shared on Instagram of his two Mustangs and use them to find the garage where he parks them.

The authorities were then able to find images of the real license plates of the man’s two Mustangs and added them to the Facebook thread. They also found an image of his gold-wrapped Mustang on Google Maps as well as a post he made showing the car spitting flames with its illegally modified exhaust.

The admin then hilariously wrote, “When California Highway Patrol or California Department of Motor Vehicles finds out you have flamethrowers on your exhaust… Suge Knight will make parole before you get that car back.”

As if that wasn’t enough, the police also shared images of the owner and poking fun at the shape of his beard. It’s all rather hilarious and shows that trolling police and threatening to run from them is not a good idea. It’s not yet clear if police in California will use this information to try and seize the man’s Mustangs.
