Nowadays, tow truck technology has gotten incredibly clever, as have the people operating them. But sometimes, rather than fiddling around with complicated attachments, all you need is a second set of hands for an effective vehicle recovery. Or, in the case of this illegally parked Mercedes in China, a fork.
Yes, a fork. As a video posted to Instagram by user @supercar.fails shows, after this A-Class was found to be parked where it shouldn’t have, it was lifted onto the flatbed with a forklift in one swift motion. And based on the presence of a second flatbed, it seems as though a truck-only operation was unsuccessful.

We’re honestly surprised the small forklift was able to pick up and move the car with such ease, showing little to no issues with lifting or balancing it. In fact, some commenters on the post doubted that the video was even real because of that fact. Nevertheless, the forklift’s operator simply drove up to the car, inserted his forks under it, and delivered it to the truck. From there, it was just a matter of securing the car to the flatbed and driving away.

But as neat as the maneuver was, we’d be curious to see if it did any damage to the underside of the car. If the forks were wide enough apart to rest on the sedan’s jack points, then it should be fine. However, that doesn’t look to be the case, so this A-Class could see some side skirt damage at the minimum, if not worse.
