Unfazed Amazon Driver Drops-off Package During Armed Police Standoff And Goes Viral

by Brad Anderson

One of the great things about shopping on Amazon is that when they give you a delivery date for an item, it’s almost certain that your order will arrive on that date. This video goes some way to show just how serious the company is about delivering packages on time.

The following video was shared to TikTok on March 18 and has gone viral over recent days, generating more than 7 million views and amassing in excess of 1.3 million likes. It shows an Amazon delivery driver dropping off a package to a house in Cary, North Carolina that was surrounded by police cars.

Roughly a dozen police vehicles can be seen parked in the small cul-de-sac as officers were in the middle of a standoff with an armed suspect. However, this didn’t deter the Amazon employee as he can be seen walking nonchalantly past all of the police cars and down the driveway, all while police had their guns drawn.

Before the delivery guy got to the front door of the house, he was stopped by an officer and handed him the package. As he walks off the property, he briefly turns around to snap a photo as proof of delivery.

Authorities were at the scene after it was revealed that an armed man had locked himself inside the property with his 11-year-old son. The standoff only ended after the man committed suicide. While his son was soon found with a gunshot wound, he survived the ordeal, the New York Post reports.

While some might find the video of the Amazon driver funny, it does highlight the notoriously strict working conditions that employees of the e-commerce giant are subject to. It’s well known that drivers have high quotas that they must meet and if they don’t, they could face repercussions or termination.
