Dodge thefts have become a concerning issue in the US, as the highly desirable performance-focused models are easily sold in parts. Thieves typically target well-specced trims of Charger and Challenger, whether parked in dealer lots, driveways, or on the street. However, in the latest example, a vehicle was seemingly stolen directly from a car meet.

The incident was captured on camera, showing a woman chasing after a shiny, orange Dodge Charger Scat Pack, which was reportedly being stolen. As per the video description, the woman is the owner of the car and had left it running during a car meet. Under unknown circumstances, an individual seized the opportunity, jumped inside the vehicle, and drove away, apparently in a very dangerous manner.

In a frantic attempt to escape, the driver floors the accelerator and strikes the owner with the rear portion of the Dodge. The woman takes a hard fall, but remarkably stands up seemingly uninjured. As a consequence of the escape, the Charger likely incurred minor damage from jumping on the curb and scraping against a Kia K5 that was also present at the car meet.

For context, the 2023 Dodge Charger Scat Pack starts from $50,330 in the US. This particular trim is equipped with a 6.4-liter HEMI V8 engine, producing 485 hp (362 kW / 492 PS) and sending power to the rear wheels.

Despite the incident unfolding in front of bystanders, no one seems to intervene to help, even though at least one of them was prepared to record the events. The video quickly went viral after being uploaded on YouTube, Instagram, and Reddit, garnering significant attention.

Watching your car being stolen in front of your eyes is a dreadful experience and we can understand the stress of the owner while trying to retrieve it. However, no one should risk their lives for material things of any value, since the situation could have easily taken a dramatic turn resulting in serious injuries or even death. We hope that the police will be able to locate the stolen vehicle and arrest the driver who clearly had no second thoughts about putting human lives in danger.
